Reimagining the Potential and Possibilities of Social Enterprise in Canada

Julie Forrester, Social Enterprise Coach at Pillar Nonprofit Network, shares what she learned at the 2018 Social Enterprise World Forum in Scotland.

Check out her vlog for an insider on what was discussed at the forum, from social procurement to government policy changes and legal structures. There is a lot to be learned about scaling up, putting social enterprise ‘on the map,’ and innovative business models from around the globe.

“Everyone is doing things differently. Learning about this helps us design what we are doing here so we can have more successful social enterprises.”

Julie also raises concerns about the types of conversations being had at the world forum and who was included in them:

“There are things that might need to be done a little differently if we’re going to walk the walk of inclusion and social impact, and not forget what we are really trying to accomplish.”

We have three questions for you:

  1. What are the questions we should be asking?

  2. Who should we be asking them to?

  3. How do we spark those conversations?

Let us know what you think!
